Our Olympians have made us all proud and they are all on their way home to Australia today. I was particularly proud this week when the only out gay male athlete at the game, Matthew Mitcham, won the gold medal for the 10 metre diving. He first made news a few months ago when Johnson & Johnson (the sponsor) agreed to send the athletes partners to Beijing, including Matthew’s boyfriend. His winning dive received the highest score ever given in that category. Well done Matthew and to all the athletes returning today! You’ve made us all proud!
