I was really surprised this week to hear that the city of San Francisco has banned outdoor nudity. It surprises me because San Francisco has always been such a liberal city. I think that’s why I enjoy shooting guys there so much. The porn industry is huge there and the guys there seem to be more uninhibited than anywhere else in the world. It is San Francisco that has inspired a lot of my photography.
The ban apparently excludes a few events like the Folsom Street Fair, a big fetish festival held each year in September. I’m sure this ban will have upset quite a lot of the guys who like to guy out wandering naked in the streets around the gay area in the Castro. He are a bunch of shots I have taken on some of my visits to the city. I will still visit there. I love the guys there too much not to go.
